Proof - Pippa Middleton Accepts Free Things

Today, The Gloss published an article about how Pippa Middleton helped boost one Texas woman's business from a one-woman struggling shop to a celebrity-loved brand.

However, what they probably didn't realize/consider/care about was the fact that they were confirming much sought after details about the Middleton sisters' spending habits. Namely, that Catherine does not accept free items, and that Pippa does.

Jennifer Welker, the designer behind Golden Thread, recently told The Gloss that the way she managed to get her brand on the map was to send both Kate and Pippa one of her $680 custom-monogrammed necklaces.

Kate's came back with a note on Kate's personal stationary thanking her for the gift, but explaining that The Duchess does not accept free gifts. Pippa's however, has been worn - and photographed - numerous times. With nary a postcard to say "thank you," and certainly not a check for the value of the necklace.

Prince Harry's Headed to America

This coming May, Prince Harry will be doing a tour of the United States on behalf of his grandmother and the UK government.

Prince Harry in the US, May 2012
Harry will be making quite a few stops during his roughly one week long trip, including doing some work for his charity, Stenebale. His tour will begin on May 9 and end on May 15.

The itinerary for Prince Harry's trip, as provided by The Prince of Wales's office, is as follows:

  • Washington, DC: an exhibition on Capitol Hill on landmine clearance and the British Ambassador’s Reception. Also, Arlington National Cemetery and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center
  • Denver: The Consul-General’s Reception
  • Colorado Springs: several events at the 2013 Warrior Games
  • New York City: an event to promote the GREAT campaign, a community baseball programme involving a new partnership with the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, a Royal Foundation fundraising event
  • New Jersey: an area badly affected by Hurricane Sandy
  • Connecticut: the Sentebale Polo Cup in Greenwich
Harry's Sentebale polo tournament will take place at the Greenwich Polo Club. I'll be following the information of the tournament closely, as Greenwich is nearby and I intend to try to get tickets to the event!

You may recall that Prince Harry was in the US last year to accept a humanitarian award for his work with wounded war veterans. And of course, the images of his most recent trip to Las Vegas {Note: Click at own risk, photos are a bit NSFW!} are forever burned into everyone's memory.

Cressida Receives the Royal Stamp of Approval

Rumor has it that Prince Harry's most recent lady-love, Cressida Bonas, has received the royal stamp of approval from Harry's father, Charles, The Prince of Wales.

Cressida Bonas, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice
Just because Cressida is close friends with Princess Eugenie (Harry's cousin who actually introduced the pair), that doesn't mean she had an "in" with the entire Firm. So Harry did what any guy does - he brought his girlfriend home to meet his dad!

Sources say that Harry set up a dinner with Cressida and his father so that Charles could get to know her and, apparently, Charles was so charmed by Cress that he invited her along on his annual ski trip - although she had to decline due to previous commitments.

Is Pippa Middleton Moving In With Her Man?

Rumor has it that everyone's favorite royal-in-law, Pippa Middleton, is gearing up to move in with her boyfriend, Nico Jackson.

Pippa currently lives in Chelsea with her brother James, in the flat her parents purchased when Kate graduated from St. Andrews, but it appears she's ready to leave the nest and venture out on her own.

Well, kind of... Although they haven't been dating long, it looks like Pip is ready to take things to the next level with Nico and the two are planning to move Pippa into his flat soon. Sources close to the couple say that Pippa already spends most of her time there anyway, so moving in is the logical next step.

I'm not certain I buy this, what do you think?

The Cambridges Hit the Races - Cheltenham Races

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out today for the Cheltenham Races which have also been visited this year by Princess Anne, Zara and Mike Tindall, and Pippa Middleton.

Kate wore an altered Joseph coat, her John Lock & Co "Betty Boop" hat, and her Cornelia James wool gloves (which she also owns in black, and are my faaavorite).

If you look closely, you can see where the buttons were originally affixed to the coat. It appears they've been moved a bit, no doubt to make the coat a bit larger to accomodate a growing Baby Cambridge bump!

While Kate may have been quite content in muted neutrals, little sister Pippa seemed to be begging the sun to come out with a sunshine yellow Katherine Hooker coat. Her fur hat is similar to one Kate wore a few years ago at the same race.

Cressida the Crooner

Cressida Bonas, Prince Harry's rumored girlfriend, took to the mic this weekend and serenaded her sister Isabella Calthorpe and her new husband, Sam Branson, at their wedding in South Africa.

The royal girlfriend took some time to speak with Hello! magazine (who had exclusive coverage of the event) about her performance, saying: "I was really nervous before performing and wanted to direct my singing at Bellie, but when I saw her burst into tears and bury her head under the table I suddenly had no-one to sing it to."

I wonder what Prince Harry thinks of Cressida spilling about the wedding deets - after all, it's a well-known fact that the royal family isn't crazy about people who speak to the press. In fact, it's said that when Peter and Autumn Philips (The Queen's eldest grandson and his wife) gave a magazine exclusive coverage of their wedding in exchange for cash, Her Majesty was thoroughly unimpressed.
